Snow Festival
The official opening for three highly entertaining days on the Maria Theresien Strasse takes place on Friday the 3rd of February at 13:00 o’clock.
After the successful debut last year,
the Snow Festival opens it’s doors again in the heart of Innsbruck. Various
brands out of the lifestyle and winter sports scene will inform about the
newest products and give the opportunity for a little shopping spree. The Snow
Festival offers, next to the sportive performance and live music, an extensive
range of activities for children on 600m2. No doubt that the fun for every age
in a wintry atmosphere comes up front.
The activities for children have a lot
to offer: a snowboard school, an activity circle and a jungle gym. The activities
will take place on all three days.
As on Friday Air & Style fans will
get a little preview of what’s about to happen at the Billabong Air & Style
on Saturday at the Bergisel stadium, families can enjoy
the Snow Festival in a pleasant atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday. The Burton
Snowboard School, the National Association Tyrol ASKÖ and the climbing team
from Cankick will take care for the fun and the action at the stations. The public trasportation of the IVB can be used for free on Friday and Saturday.

Burn Fire & Steel Rail Contest
On the 3 February 2012, Maria Theresien Strasse in Innsbruck’s historic town 
centre will be the venue forthesecond edition of Burn’s FIRE & STEEL: an urban handrail snowboarding contest featuring 15 of Europe’s hottest jibbers.
With an all-new ‘Stairset’ featuring two 8m rails and a giant burn can obstacle, the action is guaranteed to be taken to a new level for 2012.
Meanwhile, with 5 Wildcards open to all entrants qualifying via video entry on burn’s facebook page, this is set to be an electrifying contest where up-and-coming talents have the chance to win cash-for-tricks alongside local stars and top pros alike.

The Heavy
Everybody may have heard one of their songs in the one or other TV-show
like Entourage, Californication and the movie Sin City, just to name a few. The
Indi Rock band, consisting of Swaby (Vocals), Dan “T” Taylor (Guitar), Spencer
Page aka “Big Daddy Spence” (Bass) and Chris Ellul (Drums), has its roots in a
small village called Noid in England,
UK. The Heavy started out ripping and chopping beats from the
likes of Bo Diddley, Little Walter and The Parliaments and fusing them with
their now patented brand of high grade dirt. They play a mix of
guitar-heavy neo-soul meets rock using crunchy-guitar, funky horns, and Curtis
Mayfield like vocals. Their songs incorporate many different styles from a dizzying, kinetic mix of pop, rock, reggae, funk,
hip-hop breaks and soul. As a unit they are proud to be completely musically
schizophrenic.
The
one of you, who was able to see this band live on stage, knows about the
quality they deliver in their indescribably energetic live-shows. After taking a
time-out in 2011 to create a new album, which will come out in spring 2012, they
are now ready again to take over the stage.
